Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

An important tool often used in treatment by Dr. Reist is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, or CBT.

This is a way of understanding problems that incorporates both the way we think about the world, and the way behaviors can be changed to produce increased health.

All of us see reality through a set of lenses. When we have depression or anxiety or other problems, we often see the world through lenses that lead us to believe or think unhelpful things about ourselves and others. CBT aims to teach patients a new way of looking at their thoughts so that they can move towards more realistic and helpful ways of thinking, feeling, and living in their daily life.
